Tomotaka Ishikawa Joins Bajaj Auto

Talk about catching the big fish. Bajaj Auto has successfully poached the former head of Yamaha India, Tomotaka Ishikawa. Poached you ask? Well Ishikawa san did say that he was in India to turn around the Yamaha operations. But then he suddenly vanished, without a convincing explanation from the company. He is all set to join Bajaj Auto as a full time advisor from April 1.

Mr. T. Ishikawa

Ishikawa san has been a miracle man for Yamaha in the past, turning around many a loss making Yamaha units, read Thailand. He had been entrusted the job of turning around Yamaha in India as well. The Yamaha models that will be launched in the near future were all developed under him.

Given his past record, I wouldn’t be surprised if he does a bit of magic for Bajaj Auto in the international markets. Bajaj Auto as we all know is very bullish about its overseas operations along with KTM.
