Hyundai will bring in the diesel variant of the recently launched i10, in the later half of next year. Hyundai have confirmed that the 1.1 liter diesel will go into production in India. Initially only meant for export the car will be launched soon. Considering the love of the nation for diesels and the overall package the i10 already is, it just might be the success story Hyundai is hoping for.
On the other hand the Santro, sold as the Amica, in Europe will continue to be in production. Both the Santro and i10 will be exported and while the Santro will cater to the lower end of the entry level segment, the i10 will be positioned in the upper end of the segment.
